Department of Radiologic Technology

The Department of Radiological Technology uses advanced medical imaging sciences to train radiology technicians in diagnosis, radiotherapy and nuclear medicine. Students receive training in diagnosis techniques including X-rays, CT, MRI, US, DR, and PACS, cancer treatment techniques including LINAC. gamma knife, and radiation techniques including SPECT, gamma camera, and PET. Students receive training in how to process the resulting data as well as how to manage and maintain the various equipment and devices used. Students can earn radiology technician and radioisotope licenses that lead to employment opportunities in medical institutions and medical equipment businesses, or as radiation safety officers.
