Choonhae Health Sciences Uiversity(CHSU) is founded by Dr. Kim Young-so, who dedicated his whole life to medical advancement and service. Founding spirit is opening up the way with true character serving the community, enhancing human well-being and spreading the truth.

In 1968, it first opened as Choohae Nursing School was first started in one section of Choonhae hospital in Sinchang-dong, Busan. It produced 36 first graduates and since then, CHSU has become a prestigious health and medical specialized college producing up to 24,131 graduates in 14 departments including the department of Nursing.

CHSU has achieved following accomplishments such as ‘Higer Vocational College’, ‘Specialized College of Korea’, ‘Education Donation for Career Experience(Type Ⅰ, Ⅲ, Ⅳ), ’Leaders In Industry-University Cooperation(LINC3.0), ‘Institution of Higher Vocational Education Hub district(HiVE)”, “Insitution of for the 2nd Cycle Lifelong Education at university. As a result , CHSU was selected as Regional Innovation System & Education(RISE). In addition, the Ministry of Education announced that CHSU has achieved remarkable results by ranking first in employment rate in Ulsan, Busan, Gimhae, and Yangsan for 11 consecutive years.

With the current achievements, CHSU has implemented the 3 core strategies and 21 strategic impleme ntation tasks of the uiversity’s mid-to long-term development plan, 「CHOONAE VISION 2035 to lead vocational education to cultivate world-class health and medical education professionals.
